AN END OF SUMMER BOUQUET

fall is my favorite time of year, yet i can't help but feel a tinge of sadness for the end of summer in New England. i'll miss the beach trips, nightly BBQs, picking fresh veggies from the garden and those long days, the most. i know summer will technically be here for a few more weeks, but my mind is already focused on all things fall. so before fulling embracing the new season, especially on here, i figured i'd give one last tribute to sweet summertime -- florals, wicker and the perfect shade of raspberry red:

ARTEMIS DESIGN CO. / KILIM SLIDES

back talking about slides again! and trust me these are goooood.

if you're a shoe addict like me, then you need to check out Artemis Design Co. -- a local shoe and accessories designer from the South End in Boston. Artemis Design Co is most known for their kilim* loafers, smoking shoes, bags and more recently, slides that come in an array of colors and designs. aren't they beautiful? the company's founder, Millicent Armstrong, travels to Turkey to source damaged kilim that is transformed into her signature "flying carpet shoe". each shoe is made by hand in a Turkish artisan workshop in Istanbul -- they're truly a special item to own. i have a pair of the classic loafers, and am waiting for the right moment to grab a pair of these slides too. so many great colors for fall -- let me know your favorites, i love them all!
