i made this post back in October when fall was on my mind, but never got around to publishing it. better late than never, right?
fall is, hands down, my favorite time of year. for us New Englanders, fall is nature's moment in the spotlight and it really is as magical as people say it is. it's when Boston turns deep scarlet, gold, and bright orange, and when mornings become brisk and chilly -- you start to crave those cozy layers and wool sweaters after months of long summer days. although winter has a bad reputation around here i am one of those people who loves freshly fallen snow, and heavy coats.
the cooler months are also one of my favorites time for fashion. now that the holidays are here, it means the return of wearing plaid and reaching for pieces that layer. it also means reinvention and experimentation for fresh trends. right now it's luxe velvet and fuzzy stuffed animal furs. i've seen a major resurgence of embroidery motifs, irreverent sayings, as well as abstract lines reminiscent of Matisse. the 70s trend is also pretty great, and feels more 'now' when paired with blush (the color of the moment) mustard, and marble.
so without further ado, here are a few of my favorite things right now --
