summer stripes. is there anything better? as a New England girl, summer stripes mean red, white and blue with a splash of preppiness. it's classic, bold and always perfect. so perfect, you could easily wear it every day for a week:
DAY ONE
starting with monday, and i'm really in need of a no-brainer outfit. a boatneck cotton long sleeve, white shorts, a straw hat with a chain purse is just the dose of simplicity i need.
DAY TWO
work and errands in the 95 degrees heat. a breezy maxi dress is not only tolerable, but it looks tres chic.
DAY THREE
working from home, exploring a seaside town, hanging with friends -- this is an outfit that you wear on repeat. a stripe on stripe, easy cotton, mix and match look for all of the above.
DAY FOUR AM
play hooky (!!) and head to the shore. this calls for your chicest black one-piece and floppy hat with a striped button-down for protection from the sun.
DAY FOUR PM
long sleeve button-down and summer denim. perfect for an al fresco cocktail on chilly beach nights.
DAY FIVE
phew, tgif. that means spending some time with my better half -- preferably in a lovely off-shoulder pinstripe dress like this one, with beachy waves. once the clock hits 5pm, i'm running off for a romantic end of week date.
DAY SIX
the fact is, Saturdays are always the best days. i am plotting a luxurious morning spent lounging around the house, then plan to tackle a few projects while wearing this.
DAY SEVEN
this smart, and (i assume) ridiculously comfortable Osman frock is all i want to wear for a Sunday stroll along my favorite Cape Cod beach in Truro, or window shopping in Newport.
