NINE / FAUX FUR COATS FOR A COZY FALL
faux-fur-jackets.png

after a few gross days of humid, sticky weather, we're finally seeing fall-like temperatures here in Boston. and it's about time! i can't wait to start wearing boots, sweaters, and coats (my favorite). almost every year i'll treat myself to a new coat for the season -- since i wear a jacket every day for so many months, i like having a few options to brighten my mood and my mostly all-black winter uniform. this year i'm on the hunt for a cozy faux fur coat to add to the collection. there are so many options it's so hard to pick: do i go with something classic like stripes or leopard? or do i take the plunge and go for something over-the-top?

shop my favorite fuzzy coats from around the interwebs below!

STRIPED SWEATER DRESS

there has been a familiar chill in the air here in Boston this week, giving me alllll the fall feels. so, it feels only right to introduce you to my first official fall purchase: the sweater dress. i stumbled upon this little number at Artizia while crossing through the Pru. after ohhing and ahhing, but ultimately leaving empty handed, i couldn't get it out of my head. this particular sweater dress has that ideal slouchy shape -- you know, effortless with extra long sleeves -- and the colors are perfect for the cooler months. i can't wait to pair this with leopard mules (what else?), or with leggings and ankle boots for a more casual feel.

hello lovely people! i'm excited to get back in the groove of things on here! it's been a crazy couple of weeks in real life, and i feel like i've been balancing a lot. between a never-ending to-do list at work, i am also putting the finishing touches on a bathroom renovation -- before and after shots coming your way very soon! -- as well as attempting to get back into instagramming more regularly (my last post was in July, yikes!). does anyone else feel a little overwhelmed this September?

to ease back into blogging, i figured i'd start with a wish list of blush pink goodies. even though i haven't been blogging or taking many photos, i've been pinning and window shopping like a champ (follow me on pinterest here!). it's no secret that blush is 2016's darling color of choice, and i am completely smitten. especially when it is paired with bright magenta, cream and gold in patterns like stripes, stars, hand prints and muted florals. there's a little bit of everything on this list -- home, wear, and even a cute leash for your pup.

LOVING LOEFFLER / ACCESSORIES FOR FALL

Loeffler Randall is one of those designers that i religiously follow. in fact, they may be my favorite accessory designer to date. everything is perfectly curated -- from their social, newsletters and website, to the ridiculously stylish designer herself, Jessie Randall. not to mention their shoes, bags, and patterns! i covet pretty much all of Loeffler Randall's world.

with that said, it's always a treat to see what Loeffler Randall has up their sleeves when a new collection is launched. LR has a fresh, effortless approach, and their fall/winter collection for 2016 does not disappoint:

the secret sauce behind their success is so simple: design for what they would want to see in their closets. brilliant right? this fall, that means fluffy rainbow fur, ankle straps, snakeskin, bold red, and rich floral embroidery.

this season was inspired by natural elements and earthy neutral colors, accented by pops of red, orange, and powder blue. The collection has a luxe-bohemian vibe to it, with suede, fringe, and floral embroidery.

it's always fun to see the design process behind a collection, and LR does it so well -- giving their customers a transparent sneak peek into what exactly caught their eye though these cute handwritten mood boards.

these bright red mid-heels with ankle straps are on my wish list. a practical stunner (especially for navigating the uneven cobblestone streets right outside my office) they are an updated version of last year's it-shoe.

i must confess that am not a huge fan of wearing fur, but i do appreciate the beauty of these fluffy accessories: polka dots in primary colors and bags in amorphous shapes.

between the bright colors, lady-like florals, and bold reds, is the perfect neutral snakeskin. i'm officially predicting that snakeskin will make a comeback this fall. i've spotted this animal print in several collections, including JCrew's RTW Fall. a nice alternative to leopard!

new textures — fur, horsehair, suede, and python — makes for a sophisticated yet cozy look.

THE COLLECTION WITH THE HANDPRINT JUMPSUIT
sonia rykiel pre-fall 2016 | @themissprints

even though fall pretty much just ended, i had to talk about Sonia Rykiel's Pre-Fall 2016 collection. so much refreshing inspiration.

i love the mix of traditional fall colors (brown, olive, gold) with mint, bright red and a bold statement print. oh, and exaggerated fur accessories. with a description like that, this collection seems like it would be loud and intimidating to wear. but each look is made up of simple shapes -- an oversized blazer and skinny pant, for example -- making it not only covetable, but totally wearable.

i am especially obsessed with the hand pattern. the crop top blouse + skinny pant combo is my favorite. hands down..(har-har).

more favorites:

simple shapes: an a-line cape, mini dress, and ankle booties (need these!!)

great color combo: red and an icy mint blue

those are not polka dots -- they're actually enamel hand pins (or buttons, i am not too sure). go on, zoom in and take a look. the details are so good!
