WANT TO TRY / A PATTERN HAPPY HALLWAY

i really like those underused spaces in a home. like a hallway. often times i think of a hallway simply as a way to get from one space to another, but these rooms are making me rethink it. why not add some personality to your walk from the kitchen to the living room? bright tiles, wallpaper, or a colorful rug are all you need.

add an open closet. this one shows off this gals awesome coat collection. also like the bold red and white tiles -- they really make a statement. source

a whimsical floral wallpaper turns this hallway into a place i want to hang out. the gold details, mirrors, and the small striped rug are a nice touch, and help tie this space together. source

pile on the prints! this pattern combination has a perfect mismatched feel: swans (!), florals, traditional prints, diamonds, and even stripes from the painted wood floor. rather than looking crazy, this quirky corridor feels cozy. source

there is nothing i covet more than a great gallery wall -- especially one that takes over. i love that this hallway is used to display a homeowners treasured collection of art and curiosities. source

focus on one surface, keeping everything else a clean white (except for that amazing geometric jacket). the focus here is clearly the floor, making this hallway feel bright and happy. source
