THIS IS MY SUMMER UNIFORM

this little number is something i've been wearing literally. every. damn. day. this summer -- or at least as much as i possibly can without anyone noticing. the dress is from everlane and is so ideal for summer that i can't stop throwing it on. i even talked about this dress five minutes ago on the blog, that's how good it is. the shade of blue is perfect, as is the length, as is the neckline....you get what i'm saying. sadly the blue version is sold out, but i also love this cut in the yellow stripes.

one more thing? do yourself a favor, and purchase one of these amazing rope bags from apprvl (you'll thank me later).

POOL DAY / A DAY ABOUT TOWN

my philosophy for my summer wardrobe is based around utility. it was 95 degrees last week and let's be honest, it's hard to think in that kind of weather, so getting dressed needs to be a literal breeze. my favorite pieces are those that i can (and want to) wear over and over again. i look for items that can be dressed up or down depending on my mood or activity, AND I WANT TO BE ABLE TO THROW something TOGETHER WITHOUT MUCH THOUGHT OR PLANNING -- AKA classic silhouettes that can be mixed and matched easily. basically i stick to a uniform made out of BREEZY fabrics and cute accessories, and i try to wear as many stripes as humanly possible. THIS LOOK IS COMPRISED OF PIECES THAT CHECK ALL OF THOSE BOXES: THE LINEN SKIRT IS SUCH A VERSATILE BASIC, THE STRIPED SUIT CAN TOTALLY DOUBLE AS AN CHIC TOP IF NEEDED, AND THOSE LEOPARD SLIDES GO WITH...PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING.

MILLENNIAL PINK / FUZZY SHOES
party time / @themissprints

happy friday, and happy first day of fall! i'm so glad the weekend is here, and even more excited that it's the start of my favorite season. bring on sweater weather! i've been doing some major window shopping this week, on the hunt for new fall goodies (yess end of summer sales), and found myself oddly drawn to these shearling heels. or should i say, fancy-pink-slipper-pumps. they're weird, right? but i really dig them -- they're practically begging to be worn to an impromptu party...

STRIPED SWEATER DRESS

there has been a familiar chill in the air here in Boston this week, giving me alllll the fall feels. so, it feels only right to introduce you to my first official fall purchase: the sweater dress. i stumbled upon this little number at Artizia while crossing through the Pru. after ohhing and ahhing, but ultimately leaving empty handed, i couldn't get it out of my head. this particular sweater dress has that ideal slouchy shape -- you know, effortless with extra long sleeves -- and the colors are perfect for the cooler months. i can't wait to pair this with leopard mules (what else?), or with leggings and ankle boots for a more casual feel.

HAPPY FOURTH

popping in to say Happy Fourth of July!! how is June already over? but seriously.

i've had quite the busy month both at work, and at home, and time seems to be flying. we're knee deep into our kitchen renovation, which has made life a little bit more complicated (i.e. washing dishes), but i can't wait to share the finished product -- hopefully at the end of this month.

i recently bought the dress version of this Sandro star top and these gold satin sandals from Zara -- both were sale finds. i thought that together they created the perfect look for celebrating Independence Day, especially with a little denim thrown in. we're keeping it low key with bbq-ing and soaking in the sunshine among friends, exactly what this outfit was made for! how are you celebrating?

this outfit is something i would wear out in the city: running errands, shopping or meeting friends for lunch. i am really on board with the frayed edge denim, and love how they look with sleek booties. don't even get me started on that fluffy polka dot jacket -- as you know i've got fuzzy outerwear on my mind -- it's perfection! scroll down for details on how to get this look:

WHAT TO WEAR ON VALENTINE'S DAY
valentine's day outfit @themissprints

happy valentine's day! i wanted to share this fun date night look -- with pink hearts, ruffles and tassels, it felt like a dream outfit to wear out with your love while celebrating love. after all, there's nothing more perfect than hearts and pink on pink for valentine's day. we haven't decided what we want to do yet, but since it's a Tuesday and it has been freezing and quite snowy here in Boston (aka: not a good time for shoes that are not duck boots), we will most likely opt to lay low. i still might wear the rest of this outfit though.
